1. Introduction
How to become a lecturer in government colleges in Pakistan? Some students are already trying to do their PhD in the same subjects as they go through their undergraduate studies. In the process of going through the hec courses, they have realized that they have to complete a minimum of two years of teaching experience before applying for this job.
The best way to get a suitable position as an assistant professor is to apply for HEC-specific courses. If you are able to obtain sufficient experience as a lecturer, then you can apply for these courses.
The general guidelines for these courses are as follows:

Mostly, good lecturers are people with a scientific approach to teaching and learning. Maybe this process sounds too complicated but perhaps when you look at it from another angle — it gets easier! 3. Statement of the Problem
The issue of how to become a lecturer in government colleges in Pakistan is one that is on everyone’s mind. After the decision was taken by the government of Pakistan to change the rules of admission for almost all universities, it is understandable that there are many students who are worried about this matter. And this problem could potentially be even more severe for those students who do not have an earlier degree.
It is not just students who may be worried about this issue. Some of them may even be wondering if they should go to college at all because they don’t have enough confidence about their qualifications. In this case, for a student, it would be very crucial to know whether their qualifications are good enough to take them into the university halls. This can be done through an assessment process similar to that of getting admitted into university. However, in order to do so, the student should consult with an expert on these subjects first.
In the current year, the criteria for admission into universities has been changed and it has been made clear that being a lecturer or faculty member is no longer necessary. This will make things easier for those students who have already had some experience teaching or working at a higher level than what they were previously doing so they can apply for lectureship positions at universities in Pakistan even after graduation and not necessarily having an earlier degree from any existing universities (such as HEC).

4. Significance of the Study

Theoretically speaking, I’d argue that you could be considered a lecturer in any of these situations depending on your experience and expertise. And, honestly, that’s the best way to say it. It appears to be an amorphous term with no strict definition and it depends on your field of study and what is involved in the job description.
However, there are three main types of teaching jobs: professors, adjunct professors, and lecturers. All are related in some way to education or teaching at universities or colleges. Let’s first look at professor jobs since this may be an easier one to understand for readers who aren’t familiar with the concept of academics:
1) Professors teach classes
2) Professors publish academic papers/articles online
3) Professors engage in research presentations/lectures
4) Professors give guest lectures at universities and colleges
5) Professors contribute to research projects (e.g., scientific conferences)
5. Objectives of the Study
In the present age where education is a matter of life and death, it is not difficult to find students who are willing to acquire an education of a higher standing. However, in order to train them properly and equip them with the necessary skill sets, government colleges need to ensure that they are equipped with enough lecturers and research scholars.
Given the current situation, there is no excuse for the colleges not being able to provide adequate training opportunities for their lecturers. This study aims at assessing the skill set of various universities from this point of view. The selection criteria will be:
(1) Minimum CGPA 3 or First division degree in MS / MPhil/Equivalent Degree;
(2) Minimum experience of 10 years as a lecturer (not including teaching / serving in University/DAIs) at least 2 years minimum experience for teaching /serving in University/DAIs;
(3) Maximum number of courses taught as Lecturer may not exceed 25 courses;
(4) For specialization courses, maximum number of courses taught as Lecturer may not exceed 5 courses;
(5) Maximum number of research scholars allowed may not exceed 5 research scholars;
(6) Maximum number of students admitted into training course per year maximum number per semester maximum enrollment per year minimum proportion between students admitted into training course and total student base;

6. Research Questions
The Government College Admission Test (GCAT) is an annual admission test for higher education courses in Pakistan. It provides a common pathway for admission to more than 100 public and private universities and colleges across the country.
It is administered by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISSE) through the Ministry of Higher Education, Department of Higher Education.
The test was introduced in 1998 and is widely regarded as one of the most recognized admissions tests in Pakistan.
The test is administered on paper, so there are no computer based questions.
The GCAT is conducted every April or October (the last date varies from year to year) using standard question formats. The test consists of 10 sections: General Studies, Mathematics, Social Studies, Humanities & Sciences, Natural Sciences, Computer Science & Technology, Languages & Culture, General English Language & Literature with Optional History & Geography and Economics / Business Administration / Business Administration (with optional Economics / Business Administration). Each section contains multiple choice questions and short answer questions with only one wrong answer per question.
The number of questions for each section varies from year to year but overall there are approximately 130-140 questions per section on average.
A candidate must score a minimum passing grade of 80% to be considered eligible for admission into any university; it is possible to score a maximum score of 150%. If a candidate scores less than 70%, he/she will be placed at the second level in the university list but will not be eligible for further admission until he/she either clears that level or has more than five points deducted from their score(s). In addition to this lower threshold mark if a candidate scores less than 50% then they will not be considered eligible for further admission unless they pass all 10 stages or have more than five points deducted from their initial score(s)

This criterion applies only if they get at least 50% marks out of all 10 sections as per the cut offs mentioned above otherwise they are not eligible for any further admissions until they pass at least 80%, 90%, 95% , 97% , 98% , 99%, 100%, 102% or 103%. 7. Delimitation and Scope of the Study
The study I wish to bring forth can be summarized in a few words:
“It is necessary for a university or a college to be able to appoint a lecturer as an assistant professor, if it is to stand any chance of being competitive with other universities in the country.”
The issue at hand is not whether it happens or not, but how it happens. This issue presents itself as one of the most critical challenges that universities face today.
There are many areas where universities are failing the students and teachers alike. In this particular case, they have failed the country. For instance, their inability to provide quality education at college level is one thing but their inability to even do this by itself is another. If a student has no access whatsoever to decent facilities and services at his/her college level then how will he/she learn? This has been observed by countless studies that have occurred over the years.
The solution lies with improving the standard of education at all levels (preparatory and higher).
In order for this debate on quality education at all levels of higher educational institutions to become fruitful and result into positive changes within society, there must be an awareness among students about what quality education actually means - something that we have been unable to convey adequately and certainly not in such a short time span.
We need more research and data collection on issues like these so that we can establish evidence-based decision making processes and policies that would be useful for ensuring quality education at all levels of higher educational institutions. We also need members from different fields of learning who are willing to share their knowledge about these issues with other students who may find themselves in similar situations as those faced by them so that they can develop critical thinking skills and abilities without having any notion of what quality education actually entails before starting their studies. The answer is yes. We all do have a place in this world. We all do have an objective. Even if you can’t conceive of it, you know that you want to get somewhere in life. You want to achieve your goals; maybe even exceed them one day.
That is why we live here and move on with our lives. So what if we don’t know how to get there? There are two things that can help us move towards our aspirations: understanding of how we got here and knowledge about what lies ahead for us.
We may not be able to explain how our lives came about, but by understanding the past, we are able to understand where we are now and where we want to be tomorrow.
Learning from the past helps us live more happily in the present moment by reminding us of what has already happened so far in order to motivate us towards the future with hope and optimism.
9. Theoretical Framework
I’m not sure if the web has a better frame of reference than the idea of a “teacher.” A “teacher,” as defined by the US Department of Education and other sources, is someone who teaches. Let me translate:

10. Review of Related Literature
The question gets asked on a constant basis in the industry; “How can I be a lecturer?”
I will attempt to answer this question for you.
Let’s start with what it is not. A lecturer is not a professor. A professor is a person who teaches at a university and has additional responsibilities in other areas, such as administration and research. A lecturer is someone who works closely with students to help them develop their own careers, and aims to discover new knowledge for the world. This knowledge should be applied in some way to the world that we live in or the world we want to live in.
What does it mean to learn? To gain knowledge by reading books, listening to lectures, watching videos, or by looking up information online. These methods all have their place, but they all are only part of the puzzle, helping you learn more and becoming more knowledgeable about your field of study or career field. What separates a lecturer from other types of professors is that they take what they learn as an opportunity — an opportunity to share their knowledge with others through teaching others. These people do that not just once or twice in their career; they do it every single day.
A good example of this are Drs Akhtar Hussain and Shaima Hussain. Akhtar Hussain was an assistant professor at the University of Karachi (UoK), Pakistan when he was appointed as associate professor at the Department of Mathematics at UoK where he taught from 2001-2017 . He started his research career as a doctoral student under Dr Imran Khan at UoK before becoming an assistant professor therein for 5 years — 2008-2012 . He also served as an adjunct faculty member at Michigan State University (MSU) from 2012-2014 . He then became associate professor of Mathematical Sciences at MSU where he stayed till 2017 . In 2014 , Dr Akhtar Hussain was promoted to full professor rank by MSU Senate for his outstanding contribution over his academic career .
After 5 years working with MSU , Akhtar Hussain decided to move back home to Pakistan and served as vice chancellor (VC) of Jamia Tablighi Ummah (JTU) Lahore starting January 2017 till March 2018 when he returned home again because “he wanted to spend more time with his family” . But later he decided back on October 15th 2018 after 6 months away that he would like stay back but return when things settle down better where it starts

I am not one to throw around conspiracy theories. However, when I was told about this theory by a friend of mine several months ago, I doubted the validity of it for a serious second. But then I started thinking about it more seriously and realized that there could be some truth to it.
Over the last few years, we have witnessed how many people have fallen victim to ‘The Theory’. They are either bereft or desperate for answers after being told over and over again that they are evil by their colleagues, family members or even by themselves.
However, one thing is certain — no matter how much you may think you are good or evil, we all need to be careful who we allow into our lives.
You may not be able to perform miracles like Kevin Bacon but at least you should be able to do something good for society , right? It’s time you stepped up your game and put others first before yourself...
